Hello there. POSTED FEBRUARY 14, 2011
We made it back to Guatemala on the 8th. The trip was very good and the kids did great. But when we got home, we found that our power had been cut off that afternoon! We had been in the States for three months so they cut the power off here. So we had to stay in a hotel that night. The next day I payed our bill first thing in the morning, but they could not guarantee when the power would be turned on, and our house was literally covered in about two inches of dirt and dust everywhere, and the dead roaches covered the floor but at least they were dead. Well, God did a miracle and one of our friends knew someone at the electricity dept. So she called them and they turned our power on that morning about a hour and a half after I paid the bill. Unheard of in Guatemala! So we worked all day cleaning the house, inside and out. The next day a medical team came in with 45 people to work with GMM. So I went to the capital and helped bring them to Chiquimula and translate the other days. Well during all this Brandi and I were overcome by all the dust while we were cleaning and the dust in the air so we got a horrible cough and sinus infection. I am now on antibiotics b/c I had a fever all Sat. night and Sunday. But Mme Jo gave me the medicine and I am already feeling better, Praise the Lord! And Brandi and the kids are getting better as well. But the funny thing that happened was when we discovered that we had slept with our Guatemalan friend and didn't know it. I think it was the fourth day here that we got out of bed and when Brandi was making it she found a dead roach between our pillows! And these roaches are about three inches long and nasty! All we could do was laugh. He must have suffocated under the pillows...poor thing. But we are hanging in there and working hard. We have our first team of pastors coming on March the 7th to do a seminar with the pastors here in two or three different villages. The pastors are very excited and looking forward to the training! This is encouraging and exciting for me also! So please keep us in your prayers as we plan and organize the training! Also pray with us to be able to find a cheap GOOD truck for the ministry to be able to take the pastor teams up in the mountains to the villages. God is faithful and if we need a truck I know he will open our eyes here and give us exactly what we need. But everything is going good and we are thankful to be back working and doing what God has placed on our hearts to do. No better place to be than in His will. Thank y'all for your prayers and please continue to pray! God bless!!
