Hi :)  My name is Stephanie Gautney.  I am
17 years old and a junior at Brooks High School.
I am happy that Bro.Bryan asked me to share
my testimony.:)
I have always gone to church.  I went pretty
much my whole life, and when I was 11 years
old I heard the calling of Jesus to get saved.
After I had gotten baptized, I thought everything
was supposed to just start making sense.  Of
course I was very confused about the whole
thing, so it just turned into, “I’m a Christian”.
I really had no relationship with God.
Then my best friend Leslie, asked me to
come to church with her. (Killen Methodist)  I liked it a lot, so I kept coming.  I have been attending KUMC for about 5 years.
When Luke became our youth pastor we went to Gatlinburg for a winter youth retreat.  It was when I was in 8th grade, and I really felt that the Lord had showed me something that I had been missing completely.  So in Gatlinburg I rededicated my life to Jesus, my Lord and Savior.
Then last summer the youth went on a mission trip to Guatemala.  While I was there my granddad passed away, and there was nothing I could do about it.  My mom wanted me to try and fly home.  But since it was only the second day there, I was really worried about what I should do.  After talking to Luke and Kimberly about it, I decided to stay in Guatemala.   That night was probably the hardest decision of my entire life.  But truly I think it was the devil who was trying to get me to come home, and not share the love of Jesus to people who needed to hear it.   Guatemala was one of the most amazing things in my life, and Lord willing we will be going back in a couple of months.
But, I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for my friends, (they are the best!) my parents, and Jesus Christ!   The Lord is amazing!  Never lose sight of Him!  His love is the best thing and He loves you so much!
